School is just 5 minutes away from home by foot. We are glad that he does not have to spend too much time travelling as he already has a long day in school. He goes to school from 8:30 to 4:00. Dad made a great decision by looking for a school first before finding us a home.
RJ is slowly learning how to speak Mandarin. It is now December and he can communicate with the teachers and the Ayi's. He know's the basic and still have a lot to learn, but we are proud of him for being able to immerse himself. Chinese is not an easy language to learn, more so if one has to pick up the meaning of words without anybody explaining what it means.
The teachers often comments on how RJ is always so willing to help out his classmates. He tries very hard to be a good boy and have made a lot of friends in school. He use to not like it in China but now when I ask him, he would say that he misses his old friends in Wichita but he also likes it here in China. Life would be perfect if he can have all his old friends over too.
